How lesson audio and on-screen text stay in sync
When you press Play, the app follows the lesson recording and keeps the right part of the script visible. This page explains what you should expect — and what “paused” means in different situations.
One timeline for highlights
Highlights (sentences or paragraphs) use the same clock as the lesson audio. When the voice pauses for a comma, full stop, or natural breath, that silence is already part of the audio file. The timer does not need a separate “punctuation pause” — the clock simply does not advance until sound continues.
Keeping the right text in view
The Content panel scrolls so the active sentence or paragraph stays in the visible area while you listen. While you are paused, scrolling is a bit gentler so the page does not jump sharply.
Between sections
After one lesson section ends, there may be a short planned gap before the next clip starts (from voice settings). During that gap the clock holds — that is expected. It is different from tiny pauses inside a sentence, which are inside one continuous clip.
Reflection and Q&A moments
Some masterclasses switch to a reflection screen (timer or prompt). In that mode the main lesson transcript is replaced on purpose — highlights follow the reflection flow, not the full script.
Accuracy
For the tightest match between speech and text, lessons use timing data derived from the same recording when possible. If something looks off for a specific course, the underlying audio or timing data for that track may need a refresh from the content team.
